Faith Formation - Children & Teens

Sundays at 10 AM - 10:45 AM

The Faith Formation Program presents the Catholic Faith at each grade level in an age-appropriate manner. The catechesis is centered on the gospel and integrates the instruction with the liturgy and everyday experiences. The archdiocesan program, Protection of God’s Children, is taught at all levels.

Early Childhood

3 & 4 year olds

Sundays at 11: 00 AM

To nurture the faith life of the young child, classes focus on the loving presence of God through song, story, and prayer. A program called SEEDS connects preschoolers to the Gospel with hands-on activities.

The Liturgy of the Word for Children

Preschool – Level Two

The celebration of the Word for children is part of the 9 AM Eucharistic liturgy. Children are dismissed to the church hall after the opening prayer. The readings are proclaimed from the Children’s lectionary. They return to the assembly at offertory time.

Kindergarten

Sundays at 10 AM

God’s love is shown in all creation and people.

Grade One:

There is a minimum of one year of instruction prior to sacramental preparation.

Grade Two:

Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist are celebrated. Expectations of parents in preparing their children for the sacraments are presented at the Parent Sessions.

Grade Eight:

Part one of a two-year preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. The program focuses on the central themes of the Catholic faith. Included in the curriculum are topics of interest to the adolescent.

Grade Nine:

Part Two of the preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Components include instruction, a retreat experience, and service to the community/church. Expectations of parents and sponsors are presented at the Parent-Sponsor Session.

Special Needs Program

All children and Young Adults are welcome.

Family Events

Parish picnic, Blessings of Animals, All Saints Celebration, Christmas pageant, Lourdes Feast day, Family Rosary, Easter Egg Hunt, Catholic Jeopardy and Others.
